CHARLES LEO McKEONE was a well-known and much loved reporter in Camden, whose career spanned four decades. In his later years nicknamed Old Mac, he produced a daily column in the Camden Daily Courier called The Peppery Pot from 1919 until a few days before his death in December of 1927. An account of his life and many of his Peppery Pot columns can be found here. A prolific writer, Charles L. McKeone also was responsible for a second daily column in the mod-1920s called Do You Remember, recalling events that had happened twenty years before the then-current date.
